big paper

After a long day at work and not being aware of your body or a few hours you suddenly realize your body is in need for food. You decide whether to go buy a few things to cook up a meal for yourself that may be time consuming or stop at a place on the way home for a cheap, quick, satisfying meal. The obvious choice for anyone would be the cheap quick meal seeing as the pros seem to outweigh the cons. The reason many of us would choose the second option is because the average American which a large percentage of us are, don't know where our food comes from, the cruelty that took place while preparing it for us and what we could be consuming our bodies with by eating it. We are so preoccupied with the other aspects of our lives that we don’t bother to pay attention to the simple necessities it takes to survive, as long as it is presented in a good way, to the point that if something is edible and tastes good we will eat it.

meaning

The media often seems to send out different messages to the readers about what kind of lifestyle the average person should have. We often see things like "how to get a great body shape!",or "how to add volume to your hair"! But are these things truelly the meaning of our lives? the corporate culture constantly tries to offend their audience by making us strive for things in order to create some significance to our lives. We has humans, or so we like to call ourselves realize that our lives are meaningless and the media being the vultures that they are, use this vulnerability to distract us with different things that they claim can improve our lives but instead digs us a deeper hole into our insignificant ,mind-numbing lives. One of the main things corporate media seems to target is our body image, the way we dress, the length of our hair, the size of our waist down to the color of our pinky toes. so we ask ourselves why are there so many mixed messages on how to live a meaningful life? corporate culture portrays different lifestyles that appear to be meaningful so that the viewers are constantly trying to mimic these lifestyles in order to feel satisfied with their existence. since we are presented with a variety of ways of how to live a meaningful life, some of which contradict others,we turn to consuming products to strive for something that is soon going to be "out of fashion" and onto a new fad that shows us how to live our lives so we are never actually content with ourselves.
Before looking at what the corporate medias proposal on what is meaningful in life i decided to ask others to see how much our portrayal of an important life is influenced by corporate culture. When i ask how meaningful your life is to some individuals i often get answers like family, friends, and my job. Although these answers are quite true,we must look at the root of why these simple answered things, which seem to have so much significance in many peoples lives. I feel we tend to find meaning in things that we feel comfortable with, things that bring us some sort of importance and belonging. When i had asked a fellow gym teacher of mine what is meaningful in his life,he said "having the opportunity to interact with young people and give them some sort of guidance." When i asked a cop what was meaningful in his life he told me to step onto the sidewalk chuckled and said "i don't have time for this." He might not have said much or even answered my question, but his actions gave me a very good sense of what was meaningful in his life. He had authority and it made him feel good to act as though he was better then others, this gave him a sense of importance he was "doing his job"(standing in the street staring blankly into the distance) and taking control, that was his meaning in life. Both of these individual answers had to do with other people. It was about guiding others, and giving other some sort of direction on leading them down the right path in life. Although with a cop it was harder to tell since his answer showed he lacked in self confidence,it was still a motive for him to show who was in poer in order to feel important and needed.
